Asians love to use a lot of fresh fruit in their desserts. Especially bananas are used a lot. During our time in Cambodia we came across this recipe for fried bananas with a nice sweet sauce of passion fruit, honey and coconut milk. The bananas are not only fried, but also flambéed with some whiskey, adding a very special flavor. The dessert makes a good snack and goes very well with some other fresh fruit or delicious ice-cream.

Peel the BANANAS and cut the PASSION FRUIT in half.
Put some BUTTER in a pan and heat it. Once the butter melted and is hot enough add the BANANAS and fry them for a while. Then flambé them with some WHISKEY.
Turn down the heat and add the inside of the PASSION FRUIT (you can use a spoon to get everything out). Also add HONEY and COCONUT MILK. Stir well and cook on low heat for a short while.
Put the bananas on a plate and pour some of the passion fruit sauce over them. You can also add some other fruit like watermelon or pineapple or some delicious vanilla ice-cream. Enjoy!
